Imagine a world where every young person has the opportunity to realize their full potential. This vision is at the heart of the Prime Youth Empowerment Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering youth, and women through sports, education, mentorship, skill training, scholarships, and community engagement.
Prime Youth Empowerment Foundation was born out of a shared passion for youth development and women empowerment. The founder, Crystal Ezumah, a community leader, mother, mentor, coach, tutor, and business woman, recognized the challenges faced by young people, both in affluent and underserved communities. She believed that with the right support and resources, these young individuals could overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.
Personal Experience:
Crystal Ezumah shares her story about juggling her role as a Business Executive while raising her children. “Finding time to drive them around for football, basketball, volleyball, track, & baseball practices was a struggle,” she says. But, something else caught her attention—an even bigger challenge for team parents & kids. “These parents couldn’t afford the crazy high costs of early childhood sports. I knew these kids—deep down—they just wanted to play and steer clear of trouble, but many quit because they couldn’t pay.”
In an effort to help, they sponsored a few kids, but the need far exceeded what one person could manage. Crystal saw the impact firsthand—without mentors, many of these kids struggled to reach their full potential. Their energy shifted elsewhere—to hours online, video games, troublemaking, slipping grades, and poor school performance. Some kids got bullied & turned into bullies themselves.
Crystal also drew inspiration from her own high school mentor, a Chemistry teacher who helped build her confidence. Sports isn’t the only way to mold well-rounded kids. “I knew the difference a mentor could make,” she explains. “I wanted to create an organization that could provide similar support, offering mentorship and opportunities to help kids reach their full potential—not just in sports but in life.”It made such a difference for her that she wanted to start an organization to give that same support to others. This vision became the foundation for Prime Youth Empowerment Foundation.
In the beginning, the foundation operated with a handful of volunteers. The founder organized workshops, sports competition, mentorship programs, teacher appreciation programs, and high achiever’s award in local schools. The focus was on staying in school, building self-esteem and leadership skills among young participants. Despite limited resources, dedication and passion fueled the foundation’s growth.
As the foundation gained momentum, it expanded its programs to address a wider range of needs. Today, Prime Youth Empowerment Foundation offers:
Educational Support: Tutoring and scholarship programs to help students excel academically or engage in Tech to gain meaningful employment.
Mentorship Opportunities: Pairing young people with mentors who provide guidance and support.
Community Engagement: Initiatives that encourage youth to get involved in their communities and make a positive impact.
The foundation’s success is also attributed to its strategic partnerships with schools, local businesses, and other non-profit organizations. These collaborations have allowed the foundation to reach more young people and provide a broader range of services.
Prime Youth Empowerment Foundation has touched the lives of thousands of young people. Many participants have gone on to pursue higher education, start their own businesses, or become leaders in their communities.
Our organization truly believes that by working together, we can save more lives than ever before.
